My Favorite Minimalist Accessory: The Most Versatile Wooden Watch For Spring

Happy Friday! Spring is officially in full swing and in true Ohio fashion it’s been sunny and warm one day then cold and rainy the next! Halfway through April I figured it was time to pack away my winter coat, but I found myself digging it right back out just days later.

My big boy will be two years old this year and because of that, one of my goals as the weather gets warmer is to really slow things down and make the most out of the days we share together. After all, they’re only little once, right? Balancing everyday life and busy little toddlers can make things pretty hectic, but one thing that’s helping me keep track of my schedule is this amazing wooden watch from JORD.

The Koa and Rose Gold wooden watch from Jord’s Cora Collection is perfect for a stylish mom on the go; the Swarovski crystal markers are absolutely stunning, too! JORD makes hand crafted watches for both men and women with wood sourced from all over the world.

This particular watch was crafted from Koa wood – did you know that Koa wood was historically the material of choice for carved ocean-going canoes? That fact alone is enough to trust the durability of this wooden watch!

Then there’s the color scheme. Who would have guessed that warm brown tones and rose gold could look so chic?

If you’re loving this Koa and Rose Gold wooden watch as much as I am, then be sure to enter today’s giveaway! One lucky winner will be chosen to receive $100 off any JORD watch of choice, which is an amazing prize if you ask me! Every person that enters the giveaway will receive a $20 off gift code to apply to a JORD purchase of choice, so either way you’re winning!

An Easy Spring Outfit You’ll Want to Recreate

I love a good pair of heels, but while I’m all about splurging on a nice bag I just never found enough reasons to justify spending a lot of dough on footwear. I mean, they go on your sweaty feet and then they spend their day on the ground (gross, but true). I’ve spent a lot of time browsing through designer shoes just to click out of the website and think “Nahhh you know what? I could find a similar pair for a LOT less.” What I wasn’t considering was the difference in quality. SO I FINALLY BROKE DOWN AND DID IT! I purchased my first pair of Christian Louboutin heels and yes, they are a pair of So Kates.

LOUBOUTINS

I did purchase them on Poshmark brand new and never worn but I ended up paying a pretty penny since this Flamingo color has been discontinued. Just as I expected, it rained for the whole week after they were delivered to my house so I had to wait for a sunny day to break them out!

springoutfit

They look more orange in the sun, or maybe its just the way they reflect with my skin tone but either way they are BEAUTIFUL. I paired them with a pair of distressed jeans and a baggy dinosaur print tee that I knotted up in the front. Such a fun and easy look to recreate over and over again!

How I Make Money Buying Louis Vuitton

Happy April, friends! I could have sworn winter was over but good ol’ Ohio had to hit us with some more snow yesterday, which was when I decided to run outside (in my knock-off Crocs, of course) and have Alex snap a photo of me with my “new” Louis Vuitton Alma handbag. I actually get a lot of compliments on my designer wardrobe when I share pictures on Instagram so I decided it’s time to spill the tea.

How do I afford all of these luxury items? What do I actually do for a living? First of all, I buy all of my designer items second hand and I have never spent more than $300 for any one item. Second, I am a self-employed luxury fashion reseller which basically means that I cheat the retail market by purchasing pre-owned bags, clothes, and shoes and selling them for a profit online. For example, the Louis Vuitton Alma I’m carrying in the aforementioned photo? I purchased that bag on Poshmark for $250. When it was delivered to my house, I reposted it on my own account for $500 and ended up selling it for $460 within 7 hours.

My favorite thing about being a luxury fashion reseller is that I get to work from home and spend time with Alex and Braxton, the two loves of my life. Another benefit is that while these items are filtering through my wardrobe and waiting to be sold, I get to wear a lot of amazing pieces that I couldn’t otherwise afford.

Sometimes I feel discouraged and even a little jealous when I see so many successful bloggers carrying around Chanel bags and wearing the latest Gucci shoes, but that’s the very reason I wanted to share this with you all – the photos we see online represent a very small portion of an entire story.

The Best App For Selling Designer Bags

Happy Monday! I am so excited to announce my partnership with Rebag, a company that purchases pre-owned designer and luxury handbags. The process to sell a bag is sooooo simple!

  1. Visit the Rebag Website or download the app and use the code “LeslieRosner”. You can also click the Rebag link in the menu bar at the top of my blog and it will take you straight to the website!
  2. Upload at least six photos of each bag you want to sell. You will need to include a photo of the serial code for Chanel and the blind stamp for Hermes.
  3. Within ONE business day, you will receive a guaranteed price quote from the Rebag buying team! That is a super quick response time!
  4. If you choose to accept the quote, Rebag will either provide valet pick up or send you a pre-paid shipping box.
  5. Once the bag is in house, Rebag will authenticate and do a quality check on the item you sent. If every thing is “A-Okay” you will get paid via check or direct deposit!

My favorite thing about selling with Rebag is that there is no consignment. They differ from companies like The Real Real, Poshmark, Tradesy, etc. in that there are no wait times to get paid! Rebag purchases everything outright so the process only takes between 2-7 business days. It’s fast, transparent, and there are no fees.

In terms of quoting, Rebag has a team of ten buyers that do a highly competitive analysis when quoting bags. They take into account a number of factors such as brand, style, condition, current resale market, and their current inventory and then they provide a quote based off that.

As a long-time seller on Poshmark I can tell you honestly that selling with Rebag is the best way to go because you are selling to professionals that sincerely value luxury items…. and you don’t have some random buyer offering you $50 for a bag that you listed at $400! And trust me, that actually happens lol!!!

How To Remove Permanent Marker From Soft Soled Shoes

Okay so if you know just one thing about me, it’s probably that I love to buy second hand designer items. While there are so many things to love about thrift shopping, my biggest pet peeve is when consignment shops cross out the brand logo with a permanent marker. Or even worse…. they write all over the bottom of a beautiful, RARE pair of soft soled Christian Dior heels!

I don’t know if these people simply don’t give two craps about what’s expensive and what’s not (these shoes retail for over $1000!) or if they’re just bitter that someone else is going to end up taking them home. When I spotted these beauties I knew I had to have them, marker stains or not! I figured I could find a solution via “shoe collector who has been through this before” but all I could find on the wonderful internet were suggestions that involved scrubbing with cleaning supplies. There was NO way I was about to put any kind of chemical on these soles so on a rather risky whim, I came up with a better solution.

Using a fine grit nail file was a solution made in Heaven! I simply rubbed the file back and forth over the red permanent marker stains and VOILA! You would never even know those marks were there. (Looking at the photo above, let me just point out that if whoever was marking these was trying to circle the size, their circling skills are in need of some desperate help.) Altogether, it took me about 10 minutes total to file the bottoms of the shoes and I am so unbelievably happy with the results!

If you’ve tried this method of removing permanent marker from the bottom of soft soled shoes or you’ve tried another successful solution, I’d love to hear from you! ALSO if you have any tips on how to clean the inside of a Louis Vuitton bag, I have a second hand Speedy 30 that DESPERATELY needs a good scrubbing LOL!

My Favorite Matte Lipsticks: High End + Drug Store

NARS POWERMATTE LIP PIGMENT ($26)

My all time favorite lipstick of any brand, color, or formula. I stumbled across this baby when I was testing lip colors at Ulta and had to have it that very day, but I left without it and actually received it as a Christmas gift from my best friend, Shelby. I only own one of these right now and it is in the shade ‘Save the Queen’ – it’s really difficult to find a lipstick that compliments my skin tone and this is the most perfect product I’ve come across to date. It goes on really creamy and dries quickly, but not so fast that you can’t apply it evenly. One of my favorite things about this lip pigment is that the applicator is teeny tiny and I can actually line my lips with it. It does transfer a little bit, but not enough to notice that the product is coming off. At the risk of sounding disgusting, I will admit that I fell asleep wearing this the other night and when I woke up the next morning it looked exactly the same as it did the day before.

NYX LIP LINGERIE ($7)

If you’re going to buy any of these, you HAVE to get the shade ‘Cheekies’ for day and ‘Exotic’ for night. These apply VERY smoothly, but they’re very creamy so if you’re not careful they could get a little messy. What makes me love these is the fact that after the product is dry, it feels like my lips are completely bare which is AWESOME because there’s nothing I hate more than peeling my matte lips apart all day.

L’OREAL INFALLIBLE PRO MATTE LIQUID LIPSTICK ($10)

This one is a little more sticky and a little more heavy, but the pigmentation is beautiful. I own the shade ‘Plum Bum’ which looks like a pinky-purple shade from the outside but is actually a deep purple color once applied. This little number lasts all day long and I don’t know about you but I definitely think a deep plum shade is sultry – it draws attention to my eyes, too! This lipstick has a “tear drop” shaped applicator so it’s a little more difficult to apply to the outside. I’m one of those people who is convinced that L’Oreal can do no wrong, so I guess you’ll have to take my word for it and try it out for yourself. 🙂

____________________________________________________________________________________________

RIMMEL STAY MATTE LIQUID LIP COLOR ($5)

For only $5.00 this is a STEAL! I only had to apply one coat for this one to be popping, and that’s shocking for a cheaper lip product. It lasts for hours, isn’t sticky, and is even BETTER than Kylie Jenner’s liquid lipsticks. I’d honestly compare this lip color to the Jeffree Star Velour Liquid Lip Color, so if you know and love that one, then you need to know and love this one. Need I say more? 😉

Wearing A Robe…. Out In Public

So this all stemmed off of me saying “I HAVE NOTHING TO WEAR!” for the millionth time. No, its not true but if you try to tell me that you never say this I’ll know you’re fibbing! 😉 Alex had just gotten off of work and asked me to be ready when he got home so we could go to Saks Fifth Avenue and maybe swing into Nordstrom if we were feeling REALLY crazy (yes, that trip was for me). This was the ensemble I came up with in the twenty minutes I had to get ready. I guess pressure makes perfect sometimes. 😉
